I’m a huge supporter of holistic nutrition, and I take real good care of myself and what I eat. But let’s face it, I have been known to stuff my face full of the finer things in life like potato chips, pizzas, nachos, chocolate brownies… mmmmm…. brownies…..
Just a few weeks ago, my other half, Abbas, and I were at a winery for my brother’s wedding, and while we were there, we bought two bags of chocolate-covered caramel crunch candies at the gift store. And unbeknownst to me, the chocolate was also laced in crack-cocaine, ‘cuz all it took was one bite before I became instantly addicted and licked the entire bag clean. Abbas was so concerned for my well-being, that he hid the other bag in his truck.
It was two whole agonizing hours before I sniffed that sucker out and finished it, too.
Sigh. This is making me hungry.
The point of all this meandering is to tell you that what you eat has an enormous impact on how you feel, but more importantly, on how you look.
^^ And no, I did not get that above statement backwards. I really did say that looking good is more important than feeling good. Get your priorities straight, sista’.
If I keep eating garbage like that all the time, I could guarantee I would look like every single one of my years – and then some. So, I choose healthier foods most of the time. But if you’re anything like me, you’ll have to admit that no one eats perfectly.
And this is why I’m also a big supporter of vitamin supplementation.
Can’t I just get what I need from real foods?
Man-oh-man, I totally get where you’re coming from with that one. I used to think that way, too! I used to say,
If I eat natural, God-given foods, why on earth would I need to take a man-made supplement?
Yep, I said that to myself and all my clients, too, until I got a reality check and saw how un-natural our lives are. Look around you: the radiation-emitting laptop/phone you’re reading from is not natural. The car fumes you’re sucking in when you go out for a jog are not natural. The mango you buy from the store is probably sprayed with man-made pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, then flown in from 500 miles away on a man-made plane. Are your cosmetics natural? And puh-leeze, I’ll bet your hair colour ain’t natural either.
Oh yes, girlfriend, I did just go there.
So, to make a long story short: I take vitamins. Lots of them.
But for now, I want to talk about one of my favourites. This is the one vitamin I swear by to stay looking young:
World-renowned nutrition expert, Dr. Libby Weaver, has called it her “facelift in a bottle.” And if you don’t believe me, Google her. She’s smokin’ hot.
And here’s why we both love this stuff – every pill is chock full of:
- 300mg of Vitamin C. Powerful antioxidant to help battle wrinkles and support the production of collagen (that thing that keeps your skin supple, firm and sag-free)
- 100 mg of Grape-seed extract. Yet another powerful antioxidant that’s super-rich in flavonoids. Supports healthy veins and arteries, and of course, skin. Super-great if you’re prone to varicose veins, too!
These two ingredients together make a synergistic, wrinkle-killing, time-stopping youth-bomb that’ll reduce signs of premature aging. And as an extra bonus, it supports a healthy immune system and cardiovascular function.
You can go ahead and buy these ingredients at your local health-food store and mix up your own concoction, but I really recommend you try Proflavanol C100. It is made by USANA, one of the highest-rated supplement companies in the world, according to “Nutrisearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” by Lyle MacWilliam.
Oh, and also because it works.
Wanna get it? Buy it here.
When I turned 38, I finally noticed some fine lines appearing on my forehead and around my eyes. I used to sigh in the mirror every time I looked at it. Soon after, I was introduced to USANA, and started taking their vitamin supplements. When I added the Proflavanol C100 to my daily regimen, a miracle happened: One day, I looked in the mirror, and those fine lines were gone! Poof!
Hot-diggity! If that ain’t enough to get ya going, I don’t know what is! It was all I could do from dumping the contents of the entire bottle in the bath and soaking in it.
Anyways, seeing is believing. If you’d like to check it out (and peruse some of the other goodies I’ve got), get on it and visit this website.
Otherwise, stay tuned for next week’s episode where I’ll dish out some hard facts about exercise and why it’s totally over-rated.
